Crank it back up

We have had our low point now, get over it! This is a picture of the prototype crank (base design Alan B), Steve has machined it out of nylon. Not some hair-brained weight saving scheme, just a practice run before he is unleashed on some high grade (not too cheap) steel.

N.B. The picture is not blurred to obscure detail it really is just a rubbish picture.

For forks sake

Not had the best week, a long session of debate has left Steve and I with the realisation that the engines that we have searched out are almost certainly not the best choice for us to use. The slightly modified 1955 Bantam would allow us a much better chance of achieving the engine tuning that we desire. Also to top it off the replacement fork leg that I have purchased is not a match for the damaged one, so more money down the pan. But if that is as bad as it gets we are ready to accept, if it were easy would it be as rewarding?

Big hitters

We have had a great boost this week, two sponsors have approached us offering assistance with the project. It has made a big difference to our chances of making a successful attempt at Bonneville. We thank them and look forward to making their investment worthwhile, further details will shortly be on our sponsors page.

Tuning Time

A day trip up north today for Steve and I, accompanied by Mike Kilvert we went to visit Alan Brown. We were kindly hosted by the man himself, his lovely wife Dawn and several cats, I want one!
We were treated to a Bantam masterclass, lots of questions asked and all well answered. Alan has undoubtedly saved us days of trial and error with his knowledge and probably a lot of money too.
Having made notes and taken pictures we have retreated to Wales to start the engine work, thanks Alan we look forwards to our next meeting but I am sure we will be in touch very soon.

I came away without a cat but not empty handed, I am now the proud owner of a Fred fairing.

Jubilee Weekend

'Long live our noble Queen'

No work done on the bikes, but great outbreak of patriotism.
