Social networkers

Despite a distinct lack of time to fulfil family, housebuilding, work and hobby commitments some bright spark has suggested that we should spread the net and start posting on facebook. So for those that do facebookery see the link on the right and 'like' the page.

Weld one, well done

Steve has spent some quality time perfecting his welding technique, here he has built up the aluminium around the neck of the crank case. This will enable the mouth of the case to be machined back for the shorter stroke and the transfer ports to be enlarged as part of the tuning. Good work Mr. Engines.

Rex Caunt Racing

We had heard how good they were from many sources, we experience how nice they are on the phone, I have even read about them in a book. But we would still like to express ourselves what great people Rex and Debra really are, thanks for all the help and support so far and we look forwards to dealing with you further. For details of their work see weblink.

Engine

On a tight schedule, we plan to have the first engine together to run in October. Lots of crucial decisions had to be made regarding dimensions and necessary components have been purchased. Pictures below represent a good proportion of our engine budget and also is representitive of the amount of time that Steve is dedicating to the engine build. An awful lot happening already with regards to preparing the crank cases for the internals. Still more research necessary and solutions required for a number of issues.

Special fairing

Steves new fairing, this is the spot on the carpet where his beloved dog used to rest. Dog got the boot and the fairing now sits at his masters feet until it goes on the bike shortly. Dog back soon.

Scalloped

A bit more Mal Magic here, the cheeks of an original Bantam fuel tank have been cut out and shaped inserts welded back in. This scalloped effect just allows me to get my knees tighter in on the bike and tucked nicely behind the fairing.
